Website Listing Search Options

You can customize which listing search filters appear on your website, so consumers can find just the right property. To customize these settings, click the Website menu, then select Edit Site. Then click on Options under the Listing Search section on the left.

Here you'll see three main sections you can review and/or customize: Search Options, Search Areas, and Lead Generation.

Search Options

Here you can select the criteria consumers can search by on your website, such as property type, listing type, or property features. Review these settings and make sure the search options you select represent all aspects of your area, market, and business.

Since data varies by MLS, not every search field will apply to your market. Also, each MLS may treat listing data differently. For example, some MLSs may treat rental properties as a property type, while others may consider rentals a listing type.

Search Area

This is the state or province that you work in. This will already be selected for you, however if you work in another state (and belong to that state's MLS), you can add an additional state or province here. Otherwise, you'll just want to review this and make sure the right state is listed here.

Lead Generation and Activity Tracking

Here you can select how many properties a consumer can view on your website before they are asked to register.

  • Active: The default selection, consumers will be asked to register on the 2nd property they view (recommended)
  • Passive: Consumers can view 4 properties, then be asked to register on the 5th one (not ideal for active lead generation)
  • Other: You can set a custom number of listings consumers can view before having to register (between 2-4 best)

If you purchase Leads Direct from Market Leader, any leads we drive to your website will always be asked to register on the 2nd property, regardless of what setting you've selected here. Your settings will apply to any other leads you drive to your website.
