You can add images to your website to add a more personal touch to your consumer site. These steps are for adding an image to a custom content widget; if you're using an image widget, click here.

In order to add images to your custom content widget, you must host your image online, then you can either copy and paste the image into your website, or add the image using its unique URL.

Once you have your image hosted, there are two ways to add the image to your website:

(warning) However you decide to add an image, be sure you have the proper rights to use the image on your website, or you could be subject to copyright fines.

Hosting the Image Online

In order to add an image, you must host the image online (rather than a folder on your computer). We recommend using an image hosting service that allows you to use the hosted images for business/commercial use, such as Google or Facebook.

Watch this short video to learn how to host an image online:

(minus) IMPORTANT: If you're uploading images into an album in your Google Photos, you must make sure the album is public. To do this, go to your album, and click the Share button. Then go into the advanced settings, and change the access setting to public.

Copy and Paste the Image

Once you have your image URL, the next step is to add it to your system so the image appears on your website. First, click on Pages in your website menu, then expand the menu for the page where you're adding the image. Then click Edit.

Next, go to your hosted image, right-click on the image, and select Copy Image.

Then go back to the page you're editing, and paste the image where you'd like it. You can resize the image if needed, by clicking and dragging the corners to the desired size. When you're finished, click Save.

Add the Image with the URL

Once you have your image URL, the next step is to add it to your system so the image appears on your website. First, click on Pages in your website menu, then expand the menu for the page where you're adding the image. Then click Edit.

Next, place your cursor where you'd like to add an image, then click the Insert/Edit Image button.

An Insert/edit image display box will appear. Paste the image URL that you’ve copied into the Source field.

Enter an Image description (this is the 'hover text' that will appear when someone hovers their mouse over the photo).

Edit the Dimensions of the image, if necessary. Click OK, and you should now see your new image.
